Protection from thieves in a smart home
It is often said that a smart home system can help protect an apartment or a house, or a dacha.
Here, of course, you also need to understand that it probably doesn't always make much sense, for example, installing a door opening sensor on an iron metal door probably doesn't make much sense, because such a door is in principle very difficult to open and this may be necessary only if, for example, the door is not locked at all and it is not broken into there, but they are trying to open it, but exactly how plausible this scenario is is also a big question, because if you decide to go through the door there and open a modern lock, then probably this is already some kind of special training, and it's not just that some thieves have come to steal everything.
And of course, in general, there is hope that the system of the house will work, for example, if it is turned off there, for example, the power supply in the apartment, then of course you need to provide first of all uninterrupted power for all components, that is, for the router, but the router can also cut off the network, that is, in fact, it is certainly very conditional that the system will inform someone there, before, for example, when the alarm system was made normal and I also had one, then of course it is there and if the signal disappears in this case, it also triggers, so it will not be enough to simply de-energize or cut the wire, of course in a smart home system such quality of alarm and security is provided it probably won't be possible.
The window or door opening sensor, or vibration sensors that are also installed on the windows, in fact, they probably won't help much either, that is, of course, if the window is located at the second floor level and it is probably already difficult to open it somehow, even if it was left there in micro-ventilation mode, but that's why here, too you need to understand that this is some very specific situation and only in this situation it will be possible to determine what is open, but of course there is probably a good way to track it for some needs, for example, when I go out, I still check that the windows are closed, because if they are open in micro-ventilation mode, what can be from the wind something to get, if they are generally open there for plowing, then of course it may turn out that there will be a gust of wind and in general it may break the glass there, which will not be very good, especially there if it also rains outside later, it will be quite sad, so of course such sensors themselves are specially designed for this purpose, there of course, it doesn't make much sense to install security, but as an additional function of informing that an event has occurred, let's say the window has been opened, and you need to provide something there and change the scenario of working in a smart home, for example, turn off the air conditioner or make the appropriate settings with heating, then this will certainly be useful and you can also make and configure the control function at the same time.
They also often say that you need to create a presence effect there, that is, turn on/off the light or even make some specific sounds there, a dog barking or some other, the TV works, but of course when they monitor the apartment there, there are different ways to make some pieces of paper put there, there are matches to make it clear that no one came there and does not use the door, but of course when a person works on a remote site, for example, I could not leave the house for a week and nothing terrible would happen from this, so of course it is quite difficult to track the presence of people in the apartment or in the house, and turning on the light is just essentially a toy, because for example in the summer you can do without light at all, because it is always light, but in winter it is clear that it will burn almost constantly, then in the scenario you need to provide for this, but in any case they can check that this is all fiction and of course it is for this purpose a smart home doesn't make much sense either.
But in general, for the convenience of course of control, there is lighting, it can be used not to forget to turn on or off the light and periodically, too, there you can use some motion sensors and presence sensors for this and of course if someone comes to the door there, you can put a presence sensor for example in the direction of the door, and he will even be able to determine through the door that someone has come up and some actions can of course be done there, for example, turn on the light if it is in the house there on the street or on the porch, or in the apartment on the landing, you can also turn on the additional light, but or just there in the apartment some sounds to make it clearly look like someone is there, although sometimes they come there with the goal of just informing something, and of course if you create sounds, it may even be worse, they will also start knocking for a long time or ring the bell there, which I probably would not like, therefore, there are also different scenarios for using exactly the presence effect.
This is also a very controversial issue.
And of course, the most convenient thing is probably still the use of video cameras, first of all, of course, the presence of the camera itself is already a certain degree of protection, but in general, you can always see if some event has occurred, some sensor has reacted, then it will certainly be easier to determine through the camera whether it is necessary to take any actions in for example, the presence sensor there could detect some movement through the wall, react to some animal, but even then it will be clear whether some actions need to be performed there or not, but even if the camera is not available for some reason, for example if the Internet disappears there, then even in this case it is also some signal that if there is no Internet there, the camera does not work, the smart home is not available remotely, then you can also inform yourself that there are no signals from the smart home, but of course you will just have to do this rule, let's say in the phone that it will contact the server with some frequency and if the signal from the server did not come, then it will already give information, a signal, there is no connection, so you need to check, these are also some such functions, they are convenient and in a smart home, of course, you can configure such scenarios.
Well, the different functions of these cameras are also convenient to record, that is, it is either a smart video intercom there, or it is a video camera that simply records information and preferably also there through the cloud, saves it to the cloud, that is, it will be possible to go there even if something happened, you can conditionally rewind this recording and watch it from after some time, what happened, that is, it will be possible to make some decisions more consciously and now many cameras are even more intelligent, they can identify people and then the corresponding signal will also come in advance, as soon as someone comes up, the information in the smart home will already be received and it will be possible to quickly send there some kind of signal to your phone that some movement has been detected.
Therefore, as an additional function, of course, it is possible, that is, you can very often, for example, in order not to buy any super-powerful windows, install sensors, in fact they will basically perform the same function, they will also respond to some kind of shock or vibration, they will also send information to the phone, for example, and not just there to resist the fact that they are trying to open them, but also with the door, that is, you can put a vibration sensor on the door, then in principle any attempt to knock or use force there, pull the handle there will already be reflected in the smart home system and it will also be possible to react in advance, that is, of course, such things a smart home can help simplify and additionally also somehow provide some kind of security.
For example, when I lived on the first floor, too, there was a case, they tried to climb and the window was basically high enough for this first floor, but the window was broken and I just happened to be at home in this momet it was night already, I woke up turned on the light well, of course everyone who tried to climb they ran away, but in fact, of course, in this case, even a simple switching on of the light from some kind of vibration is allowed, it can also sometimes help protect the apartment or house.
Automation in a smart home should be useful and create additional comfort, but sometimes everything goes wrong… The reasons for this, and how to configure everything, see on my channel.
