Excellent aqara wireless remote control in a smart home
I use a lot of different wireless switches, wireless remotes to control my smart home, and not so long ago I purchased an interesting remote control from Aqara called Aqara Opple, and it has a lot of additional chips and very useful functions, which of course probably lead it to the leaders in all remotes.
Well, first of all, my version is like a three-button one, but in fact each button is two different buttons and in total it turns out to make 6 different pressing options, 6 keys, and plus each key can also be pressed several times, you can press twice, you can even press three times, there is also a function There will also be one more action, and there is also a release function, which also works, and you can understand how long the hold was and, in principle, process it too, in total, you get a lot of different pressing options., that is, if you just take into account the single double, triple and hold, then you get four different actions for each button, a total of 24 actions can be hung on this switch, this is actually a remote control.
Well, it also has an interesting feature that it is a magnetic remote control, that is, it has an external mount that can be fixed somewhere, well, the path itself can be easily removed and you can take it with you, put it closer, which is also very convenient, and since the magnet is built into the portable module itself, in general, you can just take it and stick it on a surface that is magnetic, iron, refrigerator or some other, this can also be useful if you want to move it quickly, but you don't want to make a permanent place for this.
The button release mode occurs at the moment of release, but it also triggers after a while when the button is held down, that is, it turns out to be about 5 seconds, and when I started processing this parameter, of course, sometimes it turns out that you hold the button, you think that, for example, the system still thinks that the release did not happen, but the signal has already been sent and processing has already stopped.
I use this switch, and this is one switch, I use absolutely to control different devices, that is, on it I have control over just turning on and off the lights in the room, that is, I have three buttons on three different devices, these are sconces and chandeliers, I have three more buttons involved in order to to control the on/off of the player, I have double-click settings for switching different channels for the player, double-click on other buttons, they are made to control other local lights, that is, each button turns on the corresponding light by pressing a certain button, on the player side I also have the ability to control the volume, that is, I made it so that if I hold down one button, the volume is added, if I hold down the other button, the volume decreases, and in principle I also use it constantly, and there is also the possibility to simply normalize the volume. that is, to return it to the initial value when pressing one button three times, and some functions are still involved for individual scenarios, but I practically do not use them.
I also made other buttons related to controlling the lights to control the dimming of these lights, but I used a clever algorithm there, that is, I made it so that in order to dim, I only dim down, I press the button, when holding it, the brightness decreases and when the brightness reaches zero, when releasing, that is when the Release is triggered, the brightness returns a little and, in fact, the lamp remains at the minimum brightness to work, but if I want to make the maximum brightness back, then I do this by pressing the button three times and the brightness is restored as much as possible, of course, it was possible to make an option that I should remember somewhere, in some parameter, the direction of dimming, and thus, when I pressed the button, dimming would go one way, if it went the other way when I held it down again, this too interestingly, this requires an additional parameter, and this parameter also needs to be read, and there is some delay during processing, and it turns out that dimming is already going at a slightly different speed, and the processing algorithm itself is not so transparent., that is, it is not always immediately clear that the dimming is going in the right direction, and you will still have to experiment, see what is being done, and then decide whether to press and hold again, or still continue to hold.
I do the dimming with LED strips, and there's a story that when the brightness reaches zero, it turns off automatically, which is not very convenient, and therefore it was either possible to make sure that the brightness did not drop below zero and provide for it in the processor, but I actually decided not to do that, and I just bring it anyway. to zero, and then I just actually turn it back on.
Other wireless switches that I also used, of course, they don't have so many functions, for example, I have a button from Xiaomi that has a lot of clicks, but it's just one button and you can do up to 6 clicks in a row, and you can also hold and release, there are wireless switches that only get three the values can be processed by single pressing, double pressing, and triple pressing, there are switches that operate at a radio frequency of 433MHz, they generally only support one pressing, and this is certainly not always enough, especially for such universal remotes that are nearby and I would like to be able to run a large number of scenarios or control a large number of devices from them at once, I even had to make it so that with one button I could switch some special modes, for example, I could press the button, let's say a single press and my mode switched to one lamp and then I could already control this particular lamp, and by double-clicking on another lamp, then I could control another lamp from this remote control., of course, this is very difficult both from the point of view of the algorithm and from the point of view of controlling what happens, and of course in this case this wireless remote control is much more convenient and 24 different functions are just a great theme and very convenient, but in fact I ordered another one for myself and of course I plan to use a lot of such switches, because that they are very convenient.
Well, this switch also has a super great function in general, which is that pressing these buttons can be performed simultaneously and not even those that are on different keys, but even on the same key, because in fact the key itself is not connected in any way, and for example I can press one button, double-press, and triple-press another button. pressing do, and even holding some button, and it will all be processed at the same time, and this is very convenient because many switches are wired and wireless., they are most likely right at the software level, they can just do that and you have to press the buttons one at a time, for example, when you want to turn on many different devices at once, then of course you have to press one, wait, wait, wait, of course it takes a long time, well, in general, you can just make a universal script that will be right away, but come up with everything combinations, when I would like to turn on or turn on, and specifically, it's a little more complicated, it's less flexible, and so you just press three buttons at once, certain combinations, and everything happens at once, simultaneously, It's just a great purchase for a smart home.
Automation in a smart home should be useful and create additional comfort, but sometimes everything goes wrong… The reasons for this, and how to configure everything, see on my channel.
