Inverter convectors for heating in a smart home
Now he is advertising inverter convectors, which are a type of new type of convectors that allows you to save up to 70 percent of electricity, of course, any electric heater has an efficiency of one hundred percent, that is, how much energy it has spent, so much energy it has converted into heat, for example, I have two computers in one room, each consumes about 200 watts and there are 400 A watt is an additional constant heat in this room, for example, if I have a 2-kilowatt kettle and it boiled for five minutes, then in five minutes it also spent about 150 watts of electricity, which has also turned into heat, so any device that is actually turned on and consumes energy transforms it in one way or another.
Even some kind of lamp, a light bulb, the same light turns into heat as a result, and therefore, of course, you can additionally heat up with any electrical appliances. Where do these inverter convectors come from to save money is, of course, an interesting question, the advertisement explains that conventional radiators, heaters, and electric convectors have a fairly large temperature range, that is Well, they heat up a lot, cool down for a very long time, and in general, because of this, there is more lost electricity for heating and cooling, but they have the advantage of inverter convectors, that a certain temperature is set on it and this temperature is maintained very precisely and with a small deviation, and therefore savings are obtained in this way.
Of course, if you use conventional heaters that are not connected to the smart home system by any device, then there is just one regulator responsible for power, that is, there are usually two modes, full power and half power, and there is a regulator that allows you to set a certain conditional temperature for disconnecting this heater from power, this is a thermal sensor built into the heater, which allows you to determine not actually the temperature of the air in the room, but the temperature of the heater itself and for the most part protects the heaters from overheating, therefore, it has nothing to do with the temperature of the air in the room, or with any set specific value of the target temperature.
For inverter heaters, they have a remote temperature sensor, that is, it is made at a short distance from the inverter itself and it measures the air temperature, of course, if it is close enough, then it is still influenced by a slight heating of this sensor, but if it is placed low, then of course nothing will actually affect it. but if it is located near the floor, the temperature will be significantly lower than, for example, if it is at a height of 60 or 80 centimeters from the floor, and such a heater additionally has about 5 modes that can be set automatically, that is, they have different capacities, and therefore such a heater simply measures the air temperature, and if it approaches the target, then it simply reduces the power to such a level that it does not turn off and maintains this temperature, that is, at about the same constant level due to heat loss, the heater cools, and warms this room with a small capacity..
Of course, such a heater is quite expensive, that is, about 10 thousand rubles, and plus it is not smart at all to heat it, that is, it has no integration and it will certainly maintain the temperature that the built-in sensor will provide, and for example it will not understand that it is standing, say, near some window and on For example, the air is cold, and this can also knock down the readings of this sensor, and of course this must be taken into account when setting the temperature, that is, +25, then the room will actually be colder, +24, even colder.
If you want to connect such an inverter convector to a smart home system, then you need to purchase a separate additional module that will connect, for example, via Wi-Fi to a smart home system, but not actually to a smart home system, but to an application from this manufacturer. Will this manufacturer's application integrate somehow to a smart home system? which one I use, for example, is still a big question, and of course here you will still need to choose which one is more suitable and which manufacturer to buy, for example Xiaomi, it has integration with MiHome and, accordingly, it can be connected via MiHome, and almost anyone is already there to the system, but it is not a fact that, firstly, it is supported for a certain region and, accordingly, a certain system may also support either not all parameters, or this type of device is not supported at all.
If we consider a conventional heater, then of course I also have a lot of them, and these are actually the cheapest heaters, they come in different types of inverters, that is, with a heating element, that is, it can be a needle heater, it can be a heating element, there are some other intermediate options, and if a conventional heater, then it can also be a needle heater, or maybe a heating element, or you can even buy an oil heater, that is, it actually works using a slightly different technology, and it costs only 2000 rubles for such a heater, and for 500 rubles you can additionally buy a smart outlet for it, for another 500 rubles, the temperature and humidity sensor is even, well, they usually just go combined, and then it will be possible to fully control the heater, already connected to the smart home system, a full-fledged device, you can also control such a heater as well as an inverter convector, that is, when a certain temperature is reached, you can set the on or off mode. this heater, but so that it does not constantly turn on or off itself from the internal regulator, I do this, I set the maximum shutdown temperature, that is, so that it does not turn off, and I put the minimum power itself, that is, in the middle position, for example, I have one heater that outputs 700 watts, another heater outputs 800, in this mode, and in principle you can just buy a heater that has less power and thus it will correspond approximately to the heat loss of a certain room, well, a heater with less power and more compact and it costs less, which in principle also affects the cost and comfort of use.
If you set this power lower, then of course such a heater will no longer be constantly turned on and off, because, in principle, 700 Watts, it will most likely just work continuously, or it turns out that they have a little less heat loss than 700 Watts and it turns out that it heats up by 1 degree for about half an hour, and then it cools down by 1 degree for about an hour, of course, a difference of 1 degree is also not very good from the point of view of Comfort, but this is just a feature of the temperature sensor itself, which either sends the temperature once an hour, either with a change of more than half a degree, so I just can't measure it more accurately with such a sensor, and of course it doesn't really make much sense, in principle, the temperature in the area of a deviation of half a degree from the target temperature is practically not critical and from the point of view of economy it doesn't give any advantages at all cons, I tried so that, for example, to greatly lower the temperature, there by 3 degrees, and then raise it back by 3 degrees, as a result, the amount of energy consumed, which is just shown by the outlet, it was clear that it had not changed, that is, in total, it's all the same.
Of course, if, for example, the temperature in the room is set above 30 degrees, I had one time when the heater did not turn off, for a certain reason, and of course in this case, the higher the temperature in the room and the lower the temperature outside the window, the thrust can be greatly increased and then of course the energy consumption increases, but if the temperature is within If we assume 24-25 or 26 degrees, then it makes no difference whether it is an inverter or a conventional heater, and the operating mode, effect, and savings will be the same, but of course, the savings on purchasing such a device and managing the device will be very significant.
Automation in a smart home should be useful and create additional comfort, but sometimes everything goes wrong… The reasons for this, and how to configure everything, see on my channel.
