The battery in the tablet is swollen

There is absolutely different information about whether a tablet connected to a network needs to be powered all the time and whether it needs to be turned off periodically. There is a belief about the iPad and various branded tablets that everything there is very smart and knows how to control the power supply and batteries, it will let the battery explode.
